A Fresh Start

by Karen Duckett

Take about 15 minutes before you go to bed to straighten up your home. Put shoes and toys away, straighten up papers, hang up jackets. In the morning it will feel great to have a fresh start in a clean space! Get your kids to help = extra bonus!

Make your bathroom and kitchen sparkle.

To remove hard water stains from faucets, shower heads, and drains, cut a lemon in half and rub it on the surface. After a few minutes, rinse with warm water. For extra hard stains, scrub with an old toothbrush before rinsing. Squeeze the leftover lemon juice down each drain for a fresh clean scent!

Remove oil with oil.

Does it sound crazy? It works! Stove hoods, panels, and tops can get really nasty from the oil that splatters on them. To clean, dab a little vegetable oil on a paper towel, wipe the surface and watch the gunk come right off. Turn the paper towel over and wipe again. This will leave a thin layer of oil, making future clean-ups much easier. For an extra clean pull off the knobs and clean under them as well. This works inside the oven too. Ahhhā€¦ a fresh start to get cooking your familyā€™s favorites again!
