The best thing in the world is to connect with God, the one who created you in His love and for a special purpose. The problem is we have all sinned (disobeyed God) and we are separate from Him.
But God made a way through Jesus Christ for us to get together with Him! He laid out the way in the Bible. As you read, take each of these to heart —
Do you think you are good?
“As the Scriptures say: ‘There is no one without sin. None!”
Romans 3:10
Have you ever sinned?
“All people have sinned and are not good enough for God’s glory.”
Romans 3:23
Where did sin come from?
“Sin came into the world because of what one man did. And with sin came death. And this is why all men must die — because all men sinned.”
Romans 5:12
What is the penalty for death?
“The payment for sin is death. But God gives us the free gift of life forever in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 6:23
Who paid the death penalty for you?
“Christ died for us while we were still sinners. In this way God shows his great love for us.”
Romans 5:8
How are you saved?
“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and if you believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from death, then you will be saved. We believe with our hearts, and so we are made right with God. And we declare with our mouths to say that we believe, and so we are saved.”
Romans 10:9, 10
God’s Promise!
“The Scripture says, ‘Anyone who asks the Lord for help will be saved.’”
Romans 10:13
To connect with God through Jesus, here’s an example of what you might say…
Dear God, I want to be with You. I believe you are God’s Son and that You died for my sins, Jesus. Please forgive me. Thank You. I’m going to need Your help and want You to be in charge. Help me today. Amen.
